Just so you know, I’ve decided to stop doing conventions for now. I kept reading, “You gotta go, you gotta put yourself out there, you gotta network.” But it isn’t easy or pleasant for me. After the initial excitement wears off, I find the experience stressful and discouraging, and after tabling a handful of artists’ alleys, it’s pretty clear that they’re not helping me bring in many new readers. So there’re better ways to spend my time and money. All that aside, I’m thankful for the positive convention interactions I’ve had in the past, and looking forward to the day when I might have some more. But I think it’ll be a while.
