Today’s comic is sorta strange, materially speaking. I ran out of heavier watercolor paper, what I’ve been using recently; so instead I used a lighter, less textured paper for mixed media. I think it’s easier to dissolve the waxy crayon lines with this smooth paper, but it warps more — and my inking bled into my watercolors in some spots, which is rare with the heavier paper. But maybe that could be fixed if I just gave it more time to dry before I started coloring. Anyways, once it was in the computer it looked kind of dull because I was gentler with the crayons. So I tweaked the saturation a little bit. It’s about 20% saturooler.

In other news that is not really news, I made this over the weekend:

Pixelsaur Kid

Pixel art’s really fun, and surprisingly easy. Is it too late for Dinosaur Kid to be one of those webcomics that produces all of its assets in a few days’ work, then just copy-pastes them for years and changes the text and background colors?

EDIT:  I just realized I messed up DK’s divesuit already. I forgot the little leg-seals because I didn’t look at the reference. Shucks.
