That’s it for now. Thanks again for reading.
Sorry I haven’t been updating lately. The holidays are proving to be especially intense this year, so dinosaur kid‘s taking a backseat while I put together gifts and get ready to go home. I’ve also taken on some extra time at work, so, ya know. Really busy. But also —
I’ve been planning changes to the comic’s format for about six months now. I’m getting tired of writing strips, especially as I do longer stories, and tireder of jamming drawings into the same four skinny panels. I originally made it newspapery because I wanted to try that style and I’d hoped that regular updates would help me capture steady attention. That would’ve worked better ten years ago, I think. Today, three updates a week for two years straight haven’t really gotten anybody’s attention. So that’s changing.
I’m gonna finish the current Warmthsgiving/Abyssmas story arc after New Year’s, when things slow down in my personal life. Then I’m going to give dinosaur kid a public break while I work on some other projects and go through some big stuff (a big trip, moving, job search, etc.). As long as it all works out, the comic will come back in the spring/summer, and it’ll be formally different. I’m writing longer stories, specifically 21 pages at a time, and would like to draw them more like comic books or TV shows. Imagine 21 Sunday pages telling one complete story, an “issue” or an “episode,” and you’ll have a good idea of what to expect.
Anyway, I hope all that sounds good. These 300 strips have been a lotta fun, and I might do more like them someday if I ever have enough stability and freedom. But right now it’s time for something new.
