#116 – jimmygrist.net

a lot of frost's poems have hidden darkness underneath. a crow and a hemlock tree, for example, are both well-known symbols of death. so it's almost as if the speaker is only in a better mood because he's been reminded that someday (though not today), he -- and everyone else -- is gonna die.
